Considering that the launch of any Apple product is preceded by months of buzz, speculation, and the occasional leak, it’s not surprising that plans for the company’s new campus were hidden in documents filed with the city of Cupertino, California, this past April.
Apple Campus 2, designed by Foster + Partners , aims to “provide an environment reflecting Apple’s brand values of innovation, ease of use, and beauty,” according to planning documents. The 3.6-acre site will include a reception area, a café, and a retail store selling Apple products. There will also be a rooftop observation deck with views of the main building.
The company’s eco-friendly initiatives for the new campus include partnering with renewable energy providers, using recycled water wherever possible, and supporting sustainable commuting.
